Special Education Teacher

We are currently seeking Special Education Teachers who are comfortable working with children with disabilities and in a team environment instructing students in a functional classroom. Develops and implements instructional programs for students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders and students with Autism. This unique position is at Upper Darby School District with an option of ESY.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8am - 3:15pm

  • Extended School Year- Monday to Friday 8:15am to 12:15pm

Every day as a Special Education Teacher you will:

  • Deliver education lessons in a small classroom setting

  • Implement IEP's and track education goals

  • Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education OR other degree in education or human services required.

  • Pennsylvania Instructional I Certification and or eligible for emergency certification through PDE.

  • Willingness to participate in ABA training and specifically Verbal Behavior training

  • Working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders. (Preferred)

  • Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position).

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
