For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the LPN position will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.

Under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor or Registered Nurse, and in accordance with a Physician’s orders, the LPN will:
Provide medical care, prescribed treatments, and assists in evaluations, in accordance with Nursing Practice standards, Devereux policy, and Glenholme procedures.
Serve as an integral member of the students’ treatment team responsible for communicating changes in treatment, medication, and behavioral observations to authorized personnel. Will communicate medical information to external healthcare providers, parents, and agencies as required.
Maintain students’ hard-copy, electronic medical/treatment records, and Devereux approved reporting systems in accordance with established procedures; and, safeguard the security of protected health information in accordance with Glenholme procedures, and internal and external policies. All file maintenance, medical reports, and data entry must be performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Participate in the initial and on-going training of Glenholme employees, in areas to include, but not limited to, emergency procedures, and the use of prescribed medical equipment.
Coordinate external medical and dental appointments; and, provide or arrange for students’ transportation to same.
Maintain cleanliness and security of the treatment and medical department environment in accordance with established infection control procedures.
On-call rotations as needed and scheduled.

Qualifications
Current Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
Minimum of (1) year experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health, Human Services, Residential Treatment, or Community Mental Health environment
Valid Connecticut Drivers’ License and satisfactory three-year driving history record
