Job Overview:

The Auto Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components in vehicles and heavy equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with Daimler Truck products, whilst ensuring compliance to the Company's Integrity & Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy & SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) requirements, Delegation of Authority and organisational processes.

Diagnosis and Repair:

  • Conduct diagnostics to identify electrical faults in (MB, OF BUS and FUSO)
  • Use specialized equipment to test and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Repair or replace faulty wiring, fuses, alternators, starters, and batteries.
  • On-Board Diagnostics Software
  • To interpret wiring Diagram and Schematics Software

Technical knowledge & Support:

  • Provide technical support to assembly line (production)
  • Provide technical advice to team members on vehicle electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with DTSA engineering department, source plants and other technical staff to solve complex electrical issues.
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements in vehicle electrical systems.

Quality:

  • Test vehicle electrical systems, ensuring compliance with Daimler standards and safety protocols.
  • Document routine work, repairs performed and give feedback.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure functionality and reliability.

Health and Safety:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow protocols to prevent accidents.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 + Artisan- Auto Electrical or Auto Electrician Trade Test
  • Diploma in Automotive Electrical/Electrical Engineering
  • Daimler product technical courses (Advantageous)
  • EV Training Course
