The role:

Daimler Truck Financial Services has a new and exciting 12-month entry level position as the Finance and Controlling Intern located at our Head Office in Mulgrave. This role will hold a key focus initially on process driven topics then onto business and financial analysis, reporting and documentation as you develop these skills. This role will also be key in providing support to the wider Finance and Controlling team on a day-to-day basis. Reporting into Manager, Controlling and Portfolio Management, your key responsibilities will be:

• Performing month-end controlling reporting tasks including loading month-end data into data repository, producing monthly reports, reconciliation of data, and data quality checks
• Preparing of presentations including monthly management/business meetings 
• Supporting business analysis on key performance drivers of the business.
• Documenting of processes, including identification of opportunities for process improvements such as automation
• Supporting day-to-day controlling activities including producing and checking daily controlling reports
• Supporting any adhoc business queries.

The successful applicant you will be highly motivated, fast learner with an ability to see the entire picture of the task ahead of you, understanding what drives performance and success in each situation. The ability to pick up concepts quickly coupled together with some understanding of the finance and financial services industry will be key to success within this role. 

A professional attitude and tactful approach demonstrated through your strong communication and presentation skills to colleagues and other internal stakeholders are essential. The successful candidate must have a strong passion for finance and an ability to learn in a fast paced and engaging environment.  You will have excellent organisational and analytical skills, be confident in working with a diverse team of experienced professionals and be focused on optimising your time here with us at Daimler Truck Financial Services. A passion and desire to gain valuable experience within a real professional setting will be vital in the selection processes. Furthermore, a high attention to detail and a proactive focus on tasks will be invaluable for the successful candidate.

Ideally you will be completing or have completed a finance or accounting related degree. You will be an independent self-starter with an ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. A proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point is preferable for the successful candidate. Knowledge and experience with TM1, PowerBI, VBA or SAP will also be highly desirable.

This is a local, contract role. You must have a valid working visa for Australia / New Zealand for the entire length of the contract, to be able to apply for this position.
