With 130 members located in headquarter in Japan, the Procurement Daimler Trucks Asia team is one of the largest procurement organizations in the county.
The goal of the Procurement group in Japan is to achieve a benchmark material cost position and continuous supply at the highest quality level in close collaboration with the R&D, Production and Quality departments.

Your mission

Steer the future eMobility/ZEV parts Procurement strategy and Operative Procurement. Procurement Buyer for High voltage parts (Pre-series and Series) 

Your challenge and development

Learn about eMobility / ZEV business. Adapt /differentiate approaches in comparison with Procurement of conventional vehicles' parts & components 

Your responsibilities

 He/she will be responsible for Procurement of electric vehicle components including supplier market research, RFQ, commercial negotiation, supplier selection and contracting. 2. Work closely with Procurement colleagues globally to define/re-shape and steer Global Commodity strategies. 3. Responsible for driving new projects sourcing strategy and work together with cross-functional stakeholders for establishing innovative, competitive and sustainable supply chain with robust quality parts & components. 4. He/she is responsible for achieving Procurement-specific project targets such as material cost, tooling cost, and supplier development cost within given deadlines. 5. He/she is responsible for bring initiatives continuous cost reduction and optimization.

<< Qualifications >>

■ Job Experience

 Min 5 years experience in Automotive Purchasing (Direct sourcing / parts & components). Engineering Graduate with knowledge of Electronics parts, raw materials and manufacturing processes. Not shy to negotiate

■ Practical Knowledge

   1. Past Buyer role in Automotive parts (Electronic & Mechanical). 2. Familiar with manufacturing processes and costing principles 3. Comfortable with strategic and difficult commercial negotiations 

■ Language

- English    : MUST

- Japanese: GOOD TO HAVE

■ Microsoft Office

  PPT, XL

■ Additional Requirement  

 1. Procurement specific strategic thinking. 2. Familiar with basic understanding of processes and methods applicable in supply chain, quality assurance, Engineering, Costing and Finance/accounting
