Associate Attorney in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz Law Firm seeks litigation associate to cover case of load of attorney on six month family leave, with possibility of continued employment at end of that period. 

Associate Attorney compensation: $89,000 to $150,000 annualized salary, depending on experience level. 

About the Firm – Brereton, Mohamed & Terrazas LLP is a nine attorney civil litigation, probate and business firm located in downtown Santa Cruz. 

We are seeking an attorney to cover for a six month period in which one of our junior associates in  civil litigation goes out on family leave.     This position is both to cover that six month period of family leave, but also for purposes of a probationary period for a possible long term position.  We provide a supportive work environment designed to provide the highest quality work to our clients while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.  

Job Requirements:

A qualified candidate must be admitted to the State Bar of California

Active California State Bar membership in good standing

At least one full year of litigation experience is preferred, and longer term experience is preferred. 

Job duties include:  Create litigation plans,  draft pleadings, conduct discovery and attend deposition and court hearings. 

This position requires the employee to be on site, although attorneys with substantial experience could be considered for hybrid remote work.
