Resource Room Teacher

The James & Grace Lee Boggs School is seeking a committed Resource Room Teacher to aid students through customized instruction and effective strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications:
- Michigan Teaching Certification
- Preferably endorsed in Special Education (SV, SM, SE, and/or SA)
- Experience in classroom management and data analysis
- Dedication to continuous professional development
- Understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks and classroom dynamics
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative in advocating for student services

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designing and delivering personalized instruction based on IEP goals while integrating general education content
- Collaborating with general education teachers to enhance academic outcomes for all students
- Providing advisory support to educators
- Ensuring staff are informed about IEP implementations and objectives
- Assisting colleagues in the creation, evaluation, and maintenance of educational/behavioral plans
- Working effectively within a team that includes ancillary staff such as social workers or psychologists
- Integrating classroom technology as well as assistive technology into lessons efficiently
- Partnering with an interdisciplinary team on diagnostic, prescriptive, and educational planning for both special education and general education students
- Adapting District curriculum along with IEP goals to teach students at varying skill levels
- Seeking innovative instructional methods that engage learners
- Regularly updating parents/guardians, teachers, auxiliary staff members, administrators regarding student progress
- Monitoring student progress towards learning objectives while evaluating their performance
- Instilling an appreciation for the subject matter among students
- Promptly complying with all mandated special education documentation requirements
