Technical Expert - Digital management of the energy storage system

  The Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

Digital Power is a business unit that provides Enterprise & Industry customers, products and solutions like clean power generation, transportation electrification, site power facilities, data center facilities, and embedded power. Our purpose is to integrate Digital and Power Electronics technologies to provide customers with high-quality, energy-efficient, green, and low-carbon power electronics products, facilitating their business success.

The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.
 

Responsibilities 

• Lead the analysis of requirements, planning, design, and maintenance of cutting-edge digital energy storage management system technology. Develop and implement an industry-leading energy storage management system integrating both hardware and sophisticated software models. Ensure the long-term competitiveness of the energy storage management system and soft features of energy storage products.
• Gain a deep understanding of the energy storage system industry's development trends. Define the vision and mission of energy storage system technology based on industry requirements and steer the industry towards this direction.
• Leverage technology trends and insights into customer needs to develop advanced energy storage management systems, management software, and algorithm technologies. Introduce industry-leading technical solutions to maintain continuous product competitiveness.

Requirements 

• You hold a Master/PHD degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, control systems engineering or a related field.
• You have at least 8 years’ experience in research in the field of electrical engineering, computer, control systems.
• This role demands expertise in designing energy storage systems, a deep understanding of evolving technologies in this field, and the capacity to grasp customer needs. It requires addressing the technical challenges to sustain the long-term competitiveness of these systems.
• The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in integrating technical resources and driving business transformation. They must have a broad industry perspective and foresight into emerging trends. They should be capable of approaching issues holistically, considering the entire process, various domains, customer satisfaction, and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with business associates. Furthermore, they should adeptly incorporate cutting-edge industry technologies to enhance product competitiveness.
• Successful candidates will have a track record of providing technological insights, strategic planning, and execution. They should have experience in envisioning future product formats and technologies, as well as developing and implementing software and hardware for energy storage or management systems.
• Moreover, they should demonstrate a history of pioneering technological innovations and breakthroughs, particularly in core energy storage or management technologies, establishing formidable technical barriers within the industry.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, working language; German language skills are a plus.
