Quality Manager

Our client is one of the world’s leading designer, manufacturers and marketers of automotive products for original equipment and aftermarket customers.

U.S.A., Ohio, South West of Toledo

The Mission:

This position is responsible to develop, implement, review and improve the quality systems to ensure compliance to Customer Specific Requirements (CSR’s), Industry Standards (ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949) and the company Business Systems requirements. Focuses on managing product / process quality performance, Quality Management Systems, Warranty Performance and Customer Satisfaction measures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads all manufacturing sites efforts to ensure customer quality performance expectations and requirements are effectively managed

  • Leads implementation of customer requirements at the manufacturing sites including coordinating / leading customer visits and acts as liaison with vendors to ensure their products meet the needs of the company & customer requirements

  • Leads facilities effort to eliminate product and process defect causes by utilizing Team-Oriented Problem-Solving methodology and recommends changes or solutions to problems. Leads the resolution of customer complaints management process at the manufacturing sites.

  • Leads the manufacturing sites overall Quality Management System (ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949) development, implementation, and monitoring to ensure manufacturing sites business objectives are achieved.

The candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Engineering, or similar degree or equivalent knowledge in quality assurance. Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) through ASQ and/or Certified IATF16949/ISO 9001 Auditor preferred 

  • At least two years of experience in Quality Manager required 

  • Automotive experience (tier 1 or OEM experience) 

  • Hands on experience in quality processes such as APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and PPAP 

  • Process improvement in reducing scrap and defects 

  • Working with internal and external customers 

  • Union shop experience preferred 

  • Experience using DataLyzer, Plato, GageTrac, MiniTab or similar preferred
