Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel IMEA

Job Main Responsibilities:

Provide support and independently handle legal and compliance matters arising in the IMEA region, including, but not limited to:

Providing strategic legal advice to members of the regional management team and other stakeholders. Providing legal support for the IMEA region relating particularly to commercial, corporate (including M&A), governance and employment matters.  Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including complex and multi-jurisdictional contracts; develop contract strategies.  Supporting with customer claim management, advice in warranty and product liability cases.  Managing and coordinating legal disputes.  Conducting internal compliance investigations.  Identifying, reporting, monitoring and mitigating legal and compliance risks.  Monitoring the development of laws and regulations as well as relevant best practices; communicating such developments within the organization.  Developing and conducting legal and compliance trainings. Developing and implementing internal policies and processes.  Corporate housekeeping for subsidiaries in IMEA region.  Instructing and supervising external counsel.  Communicating with authorities. 

Legal support to group functions and global or cross-regional projects and working groups.

Supporting the regional Legal & Compliance team.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Degree in law from reputable university; a degree or post graduate studies in International Business Law is preferred.
  • Qualified to practice law in relevant jurisdiction.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience as in-house counsel in international company, preferably in manufacturing field (Pharma, FMCG, Packaging etc.) ; work experience in international/regional law firm is a plus.
  • Work experience in relevant IMEA jurisdictions is highly required.
