Job Description

Importance of the Mongolia Country Manager Role:

Based in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolia Country Manager reports to the Korea & Mongolia Cluster Country Manager and is a key member of the Korea & Mongolia Leadership Team. Country Managers are tasked with establishing and achieving market performance targets while growing the business through deep client relationships. Their primary focus is on safeguarding the company's brand, expanding market share, and increasing revenue.

The Country Manager engages with crucial stakeholders, both internally and externally, operating at a senior level with clients and spearheading key strategic market and technological developments. Their responsibilities span across sales, product management, marketing, merchant relations, government affairs, public relations, and facilitating expansion into key business verticals and client bases.

Key Responsibilities of the Mongolia Country Manager:

  • Lead the development and implementation of market strategies to achieve business targets by growing existing business, identifying new opportunities, and introducing new products and services across markets.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with client CEOs, management teams, decision-makers, and influencers within client banks, national banking associations, key merchants, merchant associations, and partner companies. Stay informed about their perspectives on the current state and future outlook of the payments industry, banking and financial services sector, and technological innovations.
  • Oversee the product portfolio for key accounts, ensuring clients receive excellent support from the company team.
  • Act as an industry advocate and represent the company as a thought leader in the marketplace. Share insights on industry developments with clients and merchants, articulating how the company's products and solutions can enhance their business outcomes.
  • Articulate the company's unique position in terms of business strategies, capabilities, product positioning, and pricing, and its ability to drive client performance.
  • Engage with regulators and other government entities to promote stronger economic growth, business innovation, and financial inclusion. Manage any potential or ongoing regulatory changes in collaboration with the company's Government Engagement team.
  • Foster strong collaboration with the Fintech ecosystem that leverages the company's products and services.
  • Understand the impact of market performance on the Korea & Mongolia cluster and Asia Pacific region strategy, and how it contributes to achieving ambitious corporate goals.
  • Ensure alignment of functional initiatives within the market with broader business plans and strategic goals in the Korea & Mongolia cluster.
  • Lead local initiatives within the wider community in the Korea & Mongolia cluster and secure necessary resources to achieve scorecard targets.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the team, maximizing efficiency and engagement while managing conflicting and challenging demands across multiple client accounts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, offering guidance and support in complex negotiations, and ensure appropriate business involvement and information sharing about client matters, delivering solutions as a unified team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive operational risk and control environment, ensuring strict adherence to company compliance practices through championing risk ownership and accountability.
  • Promote the company's consumer and employer brand in the market by exemplifying leadership principles and values.
  • Attract, develop, and retain outstanding talent. Implement succession planning for key roles, maximize employee engagement, and ensure all staff have meaningful development plans. Foster a sense of community and drive a culture of genuine inclusion.
