The Automotive Electric Control Technology Laboratory will play an important role in the Digital Power Business Unit in the advanced electric drive control, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of automotive applications such as drivetrain, DC-AC inverter and fusion driving component, advanced AI/cloud technology, etc.

As an employee you will be part of the Automotive R&D Competence Center in Nuremberg.

Your Mission:

As our Lab Director, you'll be at the forefront of research and development in automotive electric control technologies.

Your key Responsibilities includes:

Innovative Leadership:

Lead groundbreaking research in automotive electric control, overcoming technological challenges and driving industry-leading innovations.

Strategic Partnerships:

Spearhead key EU projects, foster collaborations with top-tier research institutions, and engage with key customers and industry partners to embed into the European research landscape.

Industry Insight:

Stay ahead of industry trends to formulate effective research strategies, driving advancements in vehicle dynamics, motion control, and drivetrain technologies.

Team Management:

Oversee and inspire local teams across multiple business modules, cultivating a high-performance, motivated work environment.

Technical Expertise:

Analyze and design hardware, algorithms, and architectures based on system requirements, focusing on drivetrain technology, brake systems, vehicle stability control, and advanced control algorithms.

Concept Development:

Lead drivetrain system proposals, function development, performance optimization, and comprehensive assessments.

Brake-by-Wire Innovation:

Guide the development and integration of brake-by-wire technologies, from concept to testing.

Requirements

Your Areas of Expertise:

Educational Background:

Master's degree or higher in vehicle, mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering, automation, or related fields.

Industry Experience:

Extensive experience in drivetrain and brake systems, with recognized industry influence in areas like power electronics, vehicle dynamics, and braking systems.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with EPS, ESC, torque vectoring, and integrated chassis control algorithms. Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, CarSim/IPG CarMaker, and Catia for modeling and simulation.

Professional Influence:

Strong connections within international research, standards, or academic organizations. Proven track record in drivetrain development and vehicle stability, with hands-on experience in at least two mass production products.

Strategic Vision:

Global perspective with strong cross-cultural communication and coordination skills.

Language Proficiency:

Fluent in written and spoken English, with English as the working language.
