Neuroscience Epilepsy Ward Nurse

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • 3 years of experience in the same Field.
  • Dataflow is a must.
  • Saudi license holder is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.

Job description and responsibilities

  • Conducting neurological assessments and administering medications and treatments.
  • Monitor and interpret patients' responses to interventions.
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families about their condition.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other members of the health care team.
  • Document and report patients' progress, outcomes, and any complications or adverse events, as well as participate in quality improvement and research activities.
  • Help patients recover behavioral, physical, and cognitive abilities.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Exhibit a high level of patience and sensitivity, as not all patients are able to mentally function normally.
  • Applying complete nursing management for patients in active epilepsy.
  • Keep medical records current for all patients.
  • Monitor patients’ neurological activity.
  • Assist neurological doctors with procedures and inform them about patient’s conditions.
  • Ensure patients’ families are kept up to speed with patient’s status and progress.
  • Evaluate and identify the needs of the patient.
  • Take comprehensive patient history.
  • Assess the patient's response to various treatments.
  • Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Assist patients with physical rehabilitation.
  • Come up with strategies to help patients manage and live with their disabilities.
  • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or according to established policies and protocols.
  • Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment.
  • Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement discharge planning process on admission of patients.
