Head of Data Science - India

Detailed role description: 

You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive data science strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives and goals.

You will develop machine learning models to extract insights from both structured and unstructured data in areas such as NLP and Computer Vision.

The role requires skills in both prototyping and developing individual solutions, but also implementation and integration in production environment.

• Provide the technical direction required to resolve complex issues to ensure the on-time delivery of solutions that meet the business expectations.

• Building data pipelines at scale using a range of tools and technologies.

• Provide strategic guidance to the data science team, ensuring their work aligns with the company's mission and vision.

• Collaborate with the leadership and cross functional team to set the direction for data sciencedriven initiatives and projects.

• Work closely with business leaders to identify and understand key business challenges and opportunities that can be addressed through data science driven solutions.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the data science team.

• Act as a thought leader on data engineering and data science best practices across industry.

Desired skills:

• A university degree from reputed Indian or International universities with a record of academic excellence

• Atleast 8 years of relevant experience in several areas of Data Mining, Classical Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP and computer vision.

• Experience with Large Scale/ Big Data technology, such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, PrestoDb.

• Hands-on capability developing ML models using open-source frameworks in Python and R and applying them on real client use cases.

• Proficient in one of the deep learning stacks such as PyTorch or Tensorflow.

• Working knowledge of parallelisation and async paradigms in Python, Spark, Dask, Apache Ray.

• You know how to identify opportunities for future innovation of data exploration practices.

• You can design, code, test, correct and document moderate-to-complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools. You collaborate with others to review specifications where appropriate.

• Understanding analysis across the product life cycle (data science). You understand, teach and supervise a wide range of analysis techniques. You can help organisations create and learn from strategic insights. You can apply innovative approaches to resolve problems.
