Plant Head Operation (Press Shop)

Role Overview: As the Plant Head of Operations (Press Shop), you will be responsible for overseeing the entire press shop operations to ensure profitability and quality across all business units. You will work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operations, control costs, and make profitable investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the manufacturing of sheet metal components, stamping parts, and welded assemblies such as doors, roofs, floors, hoods, etc., specifically for the automotive industry.
  • Lead, mentor, and build strong teams to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Implement lean manufacturing practices to reduce non-value-added activities and costs.
  • Lead initiatives for cost reduction and operational excellence. Prepare yearly revenue budgets and monitor consumption and inventory status. Review tool costs and maintain inventory control.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of technology changes, quality assurance, and control systems.
  • Manage cross-functional teams for production operations, manufacturing engineering, process excellence, quality, and maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives to enhance performance. Review and audit processes to identify and implement countermeasures for defects.
  • Maintain harmonious industrial relations to ensure teamwork and a positive work environment. Review and implement countermeasures for production and process-related problems.
  • Safety Culture: Build a culture of safety with zero accidents, collaborating with the plant control department and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict adherence to statutory compliance as per manufacturing regulations.
  • Implement and manage systems and processes for standardization and control.
  • Manage rework, rejection reduction, manufacturing process control, and in-process quality control. Maintain and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across all manufacturing cells.
  • Lead manufacturing process and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Interact with customers to understand production plans and ensure effective capacity planning.
