Accounting Team Lead with German

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounting Team Lead fluent in German to oversee and guide our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate effectively in both German and English. This role involves managing the accounting function, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving improvements in financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and professional development.
• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, reports, and reconciliations, including monthly and year-end closing activities.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting regulations, including German accounting standards.
• Coordinate and liaise with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment reconciliations, and collections.
• Prepare and review budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Communicate effectively with German-speaking clients, stakeholders, and team members to address financial inquiries and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• Fluent in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in accounting, with at least 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including German accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
