Accountant with German

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant fluent in German to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and standards. Strong communication skills in both German and English are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting regulations and standards.
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payment reconciliations, and collections.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing financial insights and analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with German-speaking clients and stakeholders to address financial inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Maintain and update financial systems and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fluency in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in accounting or a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of German accounting principles and regulations is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with international financial regulations and practices.
  • Certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a multinational company is advantageous.
