JOB BRIEF:

The Quality Control Head will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and control activities within the edible oil production facility. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The Quality Control Head will lead a team of quality professionals, collaborate with various departments, and ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in the food industry, preferably in edible oils.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control methodologies, food safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using quality control software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present findings to senior management.
  • Certification in quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is highly desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control procedures and protocols for all stages of the production process.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality control systems and processes, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead and manage the quality control team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with the R&D, production, and procurement teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including quality manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food safety regulations, such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality, implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes to continuously improve quality control practices.
  • Report on quality control metrics, trends, and issues to senior management, providing recommendations for improvement.
